Privacy Policy

This policy covers netz.am and every service on its subdomains. In short: there are no accounts, files are not kept, and the network is paid for by advertising.

Last updated: 5 November 2026

Who we are

netz is a network of free online tools: netz.am and converter.netz.am, pdftools.netz.am, image.netz.am, video.netz.am, audio.netz.am, devtools.netz.am, seotools.netz.am, ip.netz.am, text.netz.am, qr.netz.am, calculator.netz.am. You can reach us at [email protected].

No accounts

You do not register to use any tool. We never ask for your name, e-mail address, phone number or payment details.

Files and text you work with

  • Most tools (image, QR, text, developer tools, calculators and most PDF tools) work entirely in your browser: the file or text never leaves your device.
  • converter.netz.am uploads your file to our server to convert it. The original and the result are deleted automatically, at the latest about two hours after the upload.
  • Video and audio processing, and password protection in PDF tools, run on our server in a temporary folder that is deleted as soon as the result is sent back to you.
  • SEO and IP tools request only the page, domain or address you enter, so they can show you the answer.
  • We do not look at, sell or share the contents of your files.

Technical data

Like any website, our servers receive your IP address and browser details with each request. We use the IP address only to limit abuse (for example too many uploads in an hour); these counters expire after a short time. To see how many people are on the site, each open page sends an anonymous check-in with a random identifier that changes on every page load. It contains no cookie and no IP address.

Cookies and local storage

  • Language: a cookie remembers the language you picked (one year).
  • Theme: remembers light or dark mode if you chose one.
  • Analytics and advertising services described below can set their own cookies.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics and Yandex Metrica to understand which tools are used and how the site performs. They process data such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location under their own policies.

Advertising and Google AdSense

netz is free because it shows ads. We use Google AdSense and other advertising networks such as Adsterra.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
  • Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), you are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice at any time.

Your choices and rights

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings or use a content blocker; the tools keep working without them. Because we do not keep accounts or files, there is usually no personal data of yours for us to give back or delete, but you can write to us with any request about your data and we will answer it.

Children

netz is a general-audience service and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date.
